In water safety has been a focus for us since day 1, and continues to be top of mind while planning each event.
We recruit in water support on kayaks and paddleboards to be out on the course closely monitoring swimmers. Our in-water lead provides a coverage plan and instruction to ensure all sections of the course are covered.
Each in water support has flotation to aid a swimmer in need and a whistle to alert that more help is needed. We have minimum one motorboat in the water driven by a certified captain.
Our water support team is in contact via radio with EMS on shore which are there at every event in case of emergency.
We do not take your safety lightly.
It is your responsibility as a swimmer to consider your swimming ability, preparation, health risks and conditions before entering the water for an event.
